HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Furry friends across the Tennessee Valley are looking for forever homes. This week on News 19, we feature two of his animals in need of assistance from the Greater Huntsville Humane Society (GHHS).
First up is Mitzi! This scruffy terrier mix has adorable ears that staff believe can pick up radio stations.
According to GHHS, Mitzi just gave birth to several puppies and is now ready to be someone's baby. She is very friendly and gets a lot of attention from staff and volunteers. The shelter says Mitzi is able to sit and she is working on leash manners.
Staff say she is very active and would do well with a family who takes her for walks and plays with her in the backyard. GHHS said it's possible that Mitzi will get along with male dogs who play in a similar way, but they don't know how she would react to cats or children.

Next up is Troy Aikman!
Troy is a snow-white boy wearing a small tabby hat. Staff say he may be a little reserved, but that's just an act and loves to be petted and brushed.
According to the GHHS, they are playful and friendly, and get along well with other friendly cats.
According to the shelter, Troy tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV).
