Mayfield Village announced it is seeking a new full-time finance director and treasurer.
The move comes after current coach Ronald Wynn, who coached at Mayfield Village in 2009, announced he would retire this year.
Mayfield Village has seen some financial changes this year. Progressive Insurance, one of the largest employers, is moving its headquarters from its main campus, or “Campus 1,” on Wilson Mills Road and moving employees to a second campus on North Commons Boulevard. It is planned to be moved.
This loss of employees is expected to leave the village with significantly less funding than before. However, Mayfield Village has set aside funds every year from 2016 to 2021, leaving a surplus of about $42 million, according to financial reports.
Now, Mr. Mayfield will need the help of a new finance director to generate that surplus.
According to Mayfield Village job listings, the finance director typically provides advice on city matters, maintains financial records, and serves as a steward of the city's public funds.
The Director of Finance is appointed every two years by the Mayor (currently Brenda Bodnar) and must be approved by a majority of City Council members. Annual salaries range from $86,856 to $123,745.

Mayfield Village Management Director Diane Wolgums is accepting applications for the position until February 16th.
