France suffered a major blow during their Six Nations match against Italy when star fly-half Mathieu Jalibert was sent off from the pitch.
The 25-year-old did not finish the first half as he was helped off the pitch after sustaining a suspected knee injury.
Mathieu Jalibert has made France's woes even worse
It's another setback for France as Romain Ntamak is yet to return from the injury that forced him to miss the Rugby World Cup.
Ntamak has been on the mend and appeared as Thomas Ramos' tee-runner against Italy, but has not featured for club or country since picking up the injury against Scotland before the World Cup.
Jalibert tried to stay on the pitch after the injury, but was unable to do so as he was sent off in the following stoppage time.
Fullback Thomas Ramos took on the role of flyhalf after Jalibert left the pitch, a role he has played many times for Toulouse in recent seasons.
Jalibert will be an option for manager Fabien Grachy for the final two rounds of the Six Nations, where he is likely to miss out.
Other than Ramos, Galthie has little experience in the position of the team he selected for the Six Nations.
Racing 92 star Antoine Gilbert has enjoyed impressive results with the club in the Champions Cup and Top 14, but is yet to be capped at international level.
options options
He was selected for the Rugby World Cup squad ahead of La Rochelle star Antoine Astoy, who was also included in the Rugby World Cup squad. Meanwhile, Galthie is also joined by Stade Français full-back Leo Barre. Leo Barre has played a lot at fullback for the Parisian club, but he also has experience as a flyhalf.
Ramos could be included at fly-half for the upcoming tests against Wales and England.
Melvin Jaminet could also be recalled if Ramos is favored as the number 10 for the final two games.
Jalibert's injury came after Louis Vier Bialley was also ruled out of the match against Italy.
There is also the option of Louis Carbonell, who last played for France in July 2022.
