The Village of Antwerp has undergone a surprising transformation on South Main Street, with small businesses Antwerp Pharmacy and More Than Boutique finding a new home for more than a year. If you've been here recently, you've probably seen the eye-catching sign on the building that houses Antwerp Pharmacy. Part of this enhancement is due to the Paulding County Small Business Marketing Support Program provided by the Paulding County Economic Development (PCED) Office.
“Our marketing program is a great tool for our member companies to evaluate their current business marketing strategies. You will receive a customized proposal that lists different marketing ideas that you can pursue with the help of different partners, such as or other companies you want to collaborate with.'' said Kristen Schulte, PCED Office Manager. .
Schulte introduced Antwerp Pharmacy owner Mandy Miller to the program during the Paulding County Career Day Exhibition last spring. By choosing to take advantage of this program, she was able to obtain branded tablecloths for upcoming trade and career fair events. Miller appreciated the simplicity of working with local businesses, saying, “We were able to prioritize what was most needed and bring those ideas to fruition while keeping the money spent locally.” added.
Miller continued to praise local programs that facilitate the development of new building signage, saying, “We determined that new signage was the most important item discussed (at the evaluation meeting).” Using her remaining funds, she partnered with her West Bend Printing and Publishing to design a banner in her style featuring the pharmacy's logo, services, location and contact information. What's impressive is that it was installed within her day in West Bend.
Local marketing companies are excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other companies and share their talents. “West Bend Printing Publishing feels that this marketing program will be extremely useful, not just for businesses looking to expand their marketing reach with useful tools.”But it also helps us expand our customer base. has opened its doors,” said co-owner Angel Steiner. “After nearly 20 years in business, Bryce (Steiner, co-owner) and I are sometimes perplexed by how many people still don't know that West Bend is more than just a newspaper. Our clients are excited to know they can create marketing tools like signs and personalized invoices right here in Paulding County. We would like to thank PCED and this marketing program for helping small businesses in Paulding County grow. I would like to thank you.”
This program is a collaboration between the Defiance and Paulding County OhioMeansJobs (OMJ) offices and is facilitated through the PCED office. This program is aimed at small businesses with fewer than 10 employees.
“OhioMeansJobs Defiance & Paulding Counties is grateful for the funding opportunity through the Ohio Workforce Commission to allow OMJ Defiance & Paulding to assist businesses with this customized marketing opportunity. OMJ Defiance & Paulding also appreciates our continued partnership with PCED and its promotion and support of this great opportunity,” said Tiffany Rockhold, workforce supervisor for OhioMeansJobs Defiance/Paulding County.
