Position overview
MCA is seeking an active and passionate Marketing Coordinator to join our marketing team supporting the museum's commercial activities. This role develops and delivers initiatives and campaigns to maximize the Museum's revenue through the MCA Store, venue rentals, corporate partnerships, philanthropy and membership programs.
The successful applicant will have a flair for copywriting and storytelling, an understanding of all aspects of social media, an eye for images, strong multi-tasking skills, and a deep understanding of e-commerce, digital trends, and acquisitions. Must have knowledge. You will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for developing and delivering MCA's development and enterprise marketing strategies across multiple platforms including social media, electronic communications, SEM, and SEO campaigns. This role will also be responsible for event coordination, media booking, briefing designer and list management.
This position reports to the Marketing Manager and works closely with the Head of Communications and Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator and the Design Team. Their role will also work closely with the development team, venue team and MCA store representatives.
Duties and responsibilities of the position
Philanthropy and membership programs
- Work with the Marketing Manager and Philanthropy Director to develop and execute the annual marketing plan.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager and Philanthropy Officer to develop and deliver the MCA's annual appeal.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute marketing campaigns for MCA Next and our members.
- Prove and manage member, MCA Next, and Ambassador eDM approvals.
- Easy campaign to MCA Design Studio.
- Work with the Philanthropy Director to support the annual Artist Ball.
MCA Corporate Partnership
- Provide corporate partner marketing, including corporate membership campaigns and activations, as needed.
- Easy campaign through MCA Design Studio.
- Overview and development of partner materials.
MCA venue
- Work with the Marketing Manager and MCA Venues staff to develop and execute the annual marketing plan for MCA Venues.
- Manage photo shoots as needed.
- Easy campaign to MCA Design Studio.
- Grow your subscription mailing list.
- Oversee social channels for MCA Hospitality Services.
MCA store
- Develop and execute the annual marketing plan for the MCA store with support from the Marketing Manager and Store Manager, with a focus on digital and social media marketing.
- Manage approval of all stores, venues, and development materials.
- Copywriting, building and sending eDMs.
- Manage photo shoots and collaborate with design team on art direction as needed.
- Coordinating MCA Store events such as product launches and shopping days.
- Easy campaign work up to MCA's design studio.
- Grow your subscription mailing list.
general
- Update the “Development'' and “Venues'' pages of the MCA website as needed.
- Manage development, venue, and store material approvals through your team.
- Develop logo blocks that meet the requirements of all development partners.
- Coordinate regular reporting on board and compliance reports for developments, venues and stores as required.
- Certify and manage approval of all invitations to development, venue, and store events.
Key selection criteria

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have:
- 3+ years of previous experience in a similar marketing position.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write and edit effective marketing and social copy.
- E-commerce experience and passion for the digital industry, as well as knowledge of current and trending cutting-edge practices.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure, independently and as part of a team, and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to develop and execute creative digital marketing campaigns with emphasis on social media and ability to think outside the box.
- Experience using social media platforms to increase visitors, deepen engagement, and improve consumer brand awareness.
- Experience in sending effective electronic communications that achieve brand, revenue, conversion, participation, and channel usage goals.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders such as designers, external agencies, digital media specialists, and web developers.
- Project management experience
- Detailed proofreading and editing skills
- Strong administrative skills and excellent computer skills using Word and Excel.
- Interested in contemporary art and culture.

It is recommended that applicants have the following:
- Experience implementing and managing digital advertising and SEO campaigns.
- Marketing experience in the cultural or non-profit sector
- Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing (or related field)
- Photography and styling experience
- Interest in new marketing concepts, technology, and experiential marketing.

Employment conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting directly to the Marketing Manager. Coverage of MCA events and programs where TOIL is available requires work outside of normal business hours (9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
Salary package includes:
- Annual leave: 4 weeks
- Personal leave: 10 days
- Superannuation: 11% superpayment (Under the Superannuation Guarantees (Administration) Act 1992).
