A man has videotaped what he believes to be his “last” moments and sent it to his mother after his plane from Sydney to Auckland suddenly nosedived. According to reports, Latin American Airlines Flight LA800, carrying 263 passengers and nine flight and flight attendants, experienced a technical problem about an hour before landing, causing severe turbulence on March 11.
At least 50 passengers on the plane were injured. According to Forbes, some of the passengers and crew on board the plane crashed into the ceiling due to the sudden fall.
The Daily Mail shared a video on Instagram of the passenger recording his “final” moments. Video from inside the plane shows passengers panicking.
The affected Santiago-bound flight LA800 landed safely in Auckland as scheduled at 16:26 local time. Another flight was scheduled for March 12, leaving Auckland at 20:00 local time for passengers to continue their journey to Santiago, Chile. LATAM Airlines said in a statement that due to the flight cancellation, the airline provided meals, accommodation and transportation to affected passengers.
It further reported that 13 people, including passengers and crew, were taken to Middlemore Hospital after the plane landed. One of them is in serious condition.

“Latin America is working in coordination with the respective authorities to assist in the investigation of the incident,” they added.
