AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Businesses like bars, bakeries and florists are working overtime for Valentine's Day.
Wednesday is not only a day to celebrate love, but also a day to help keep local restaurants open.
This is the beginning of customer growth for many restaurants over the next few months, and an opportunity to bring in more people who will likely come back.
“If you like going out and having a good time, eating quality food, and receiving quality service, I would like to say that you need to support your local restaurants. Unfortunately, it will eventually disappear,'' said Shadrick Clay, owner of French Market Grill.
Busy days like Valentine's Day help local restaurants in many ways, but they require a lot of preparation.
The tension is a little similar to that of the Masters. It's not just Valentine's Day and the Masters, it's Valentine's Day all the time. We had a few people sleep over at the restaurant last year, just like we did, and we take that very seriously,” said Finch and fifth-generation executive chef and owner Sarah Elizabeth Clos. .
On days like these, you'll get even more new customers who could become regulars. But restaurants aren't the only ones expecting continued growth.
“Last year, we weren't completely dead. But today, obviously, we're not like we've been in the past. We've been open for about three hours now. And we're already… more days and then you'll see it primarily on Thursdays and Fridays at this time,” said Hannah Hayes, general manager of Vance Bakery Bar.
Each location is always looking for new ways to keep people coming back, make memories, and keep coming back.
“I would like the Augusta community to seriously consider supporting small, local, family-owned businesses. “In contrast to other people, we give back a lot from our pockets, which are not so rich. We put our heart and soul into each and every service, like lunch or brunch,” Kuro said. .
