Niklas Lindahl, Global Chief Marketing Officer of LeoVegas Group, has resigned from his position as operator.
Mr. Lindahl retired from LeoVegas after approximately six years with the company, having held various roles since joining the company in April 2018.
He started as Managing Director for Italy and later became Head of MGA Market and General Manager for Europe and North America. He assumed his most senior role of Global Chief Marketing Officer in August 2021.
Prior to joining LeoVegas, Lindahl worked as Head of International Development at Gruppo DigiTouch. He also served as CEO of Optimized Group, country manager of Just Search Italy in Italy, and key account manager of NetBooster Sweden.
Lindahl announced his departure from LeoVegas in a post on LinkedIn, paying tribute to his colleagues at the company.
“Thank you for the best five years of my career. It's been an amazing journey,” Lindahl said. “I will miss all of you. LeoVegas is a company like no other and it was a pleasure to work there.”
“Gustav Hagman (CEO of LeoVegas), thank you for giving me the opportunity to enter this industry. Thank you for showing me what leadership is. You are a true example to all of us. I'll miss you.”
LeoVegas has a busy 2024
Lindahl leaves Leo Vegas at a busy time for the operator following several developments in recent months.
In August, LeoVegas partnered with MGM Resorts International to roll out the BetMGM brand in the UK. This platform is powered by LeoVegas technology and platform. Leo Vegas was acquired by MGM Resorts in September 2022 for his $604 million.
Meanwhile, LeoVegas also completed the acquisition of a majority stake in game developer Push Gaming in September last year.
Late last year, LeoVegas also announced its return to the Netherlands by launching a new website for the Netherlands. LeoVegas.nl offers a wide range of online casino games, live casino, and sports betting.
The announcement comes after LeoVegas acquired a new license in the country through its LeoVegas Gaming business in July.
LeoVegas previously operated in the Netherlands before the country regulated the online gambling market. The legal market in the Netherlands opened on October 1, 2021. LeoVegas announced it would cease operations in the country just days before the market opened.
