Concert schedule
West Haven Center for the Arts will present a Bayou Swami concert at Trinidad City Hall on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The show will feature Louisiana music and original songs by Randall Lundberg, button accordion, fiddle, and vocalist Jeff Landen on guitar/vocals. Kate Koemel, T-fer, rubber board, vocals. Mara Joy, bass; and drummer Tommy Fitzmaurice.

The Redwood Area Audubon Society will host free guided field trips at the Arcata Wetlands Wildlife Refuge from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Bring your binoculars and meet trip leader Gary Friedrichsen at the end of South I Street (Crop Lake) in Arcata to discover easy trails, beautiful views of Humboldt Bay, and a variety of wintering birds including ducks, snipe, herons, and ducks. let's have fun. and egrets, birds of prey, and songbirds. Also, keep an eye out for signs of river otters and river otters that frequent wetland ponds.
Bird watching tour
The Redwood Area Audubon Society will host free guided birding tours along the Eureka Waterfront Trail with leader Ralph Butcher from 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday.
This relatively urban trail offers the potential to observe species richness and diversity compared to many remote locations. Listen carefully for cormorants, loons, grebes and even otters diving for food. This walk is a flat, paved path that is wheelchair accessible. The dance, featuring live music and a “great floor,” will be held Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road in Eureka. Admission is $9.
FRT audition
Ferndale Repertory Theater will hold public auditions on Monday and February 22 for the next production of the musical “The Prom.” The show was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Book and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, music by Matthew Sklar.
FRT plans to cast over 20 performers aged 15 and over for this production. We invite experienced or first-time performers who love singing, dancing, and acting to audition. For more information, please visit https://www.ferndalerep.org/auditions.
seed exchange
The Humboldt Permaculture Guild will hold its annual “Seed, Plant, and Scion Exchange” on March 9th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arcata Community Center, 321 Dr. MLK Jr. Parkway in Arcata. Masu.
There will be free seeds and plants, as well as vendors, booths, workshops and raffles. We also plan to sell scion trees that can be exchanged for rootstocks.
Suggested admission prices are on a sliding scale up to a maximum of $10, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. We encourage everyone to bring and share seeds, plants, and scions.
