Kent ISD — Kent Career Tech Center (1655 E. Beltline NE) will hold its 2024 Open House on February 7th and 8th. The event will be held both days from 5-7 p.m.
Visitors can explore the Tech Center campus, visit classrooms, view demonstrations, speak with instructors, and gather information about various Tech Center programs. Student services and registration information will be available and refreshments will be provided by the culinary program.
Tech Center programs include construction, aviation, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, cybersecurity, digital animation, criminal justice, hospitality, agricultural sciences, and several health sciences including pharmacy, EMT, and nursing technology/patient technology services. Contains programs. Additionally, the Tech Center offers introductory and pre-vocational exploration programs in automotive, hospitality, and marketing.
The Tech Center is also home to the Teacher Academy and the Career Orientation Readiness Experience, a program that helps high school students who are not ready for independent, competitive employment transition from school to work.
To participate in Kent Career Tech Center programs, students must have completed 10th grade (except for programs designed for second-year students and above). Be 16 years old on or before December 1st. Be a student who either attends a public, parochial, or private school in the Kent Intermediate School District, or is a homeschool student who resides in Kent County.
