heart pet shelter cat of the week This week we are featuring Suki-chan! She is the mother of recently introduced kittens (Splash and Chaucer) and yet to be introduced kittens Buttermilk and Tracker.
A shelter took them in after their elderly human mother had a fall and had to go into a nursing home. The expected birth date is December 15, 2020. Suki is a beautiful calico cat. She loves being petted and is ready to get her forever home of her own.
dog of the week
This is Penny, a very elderly and overweight female doxie. She came to the shelter because her owner died and no one needed her. We know she must be grieving the loss of her beloved human, so we hope she finds the perfect individual or her family to be hers. I am.
As you can see, both of the pets we featured this week became homeless because their owners were no longer able to care for them. This raises an issue that we would like to remind people of on a regular basis. If you're elderly or in declining health, there's always a lot to plan for. One of these things, which is often overlooked among many others, is planning how you will care for your beloved pet.
For many of us, our fur babies are part of our family and deserve to be cared for even after we are gone. Our family members and caretakers provide peace of mind knowing that our loyal and loving pets will continue to be lovingly cared for by us, even when we are no longer able to do so. We recommend that you discuss this with someone.
You can find several articles on the Internet about how to feed a fur baby in this situation. Don't wait until it's too late to make your wishes known.
If you would like to meet Suki, Penny, or any of the other foster parents, please call the shelter at 870-449-7387 or stop by 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during regular business hours Tuesday through Saturday. From a.m. to 3 p.m. I look forward to seeing you soon!
