Hello, my name is Indy. I am one of the newest cats to make it through quarantine and onto the adoption floor here at APS-FH. Now that I'm in room 3 and I've had time to get my bearings, I'm feeling myself again, but to be honest, the first few weeks here have been tough.
Because I found myself here after the death of a loved one. Transition is difficult for anyone, but my broken heart was too much to bear. Although I am still grieving the death of a loved one, I find comfort in the places they will visit and around the people and cats. As you know, long before I came here, my contact regularly came to the shelter and volunteered as a cat socializer. His role was to comfort, befriend, and play with all the cats waiting to be adopted. I wish he would walk back to me through room 3, but just thinking about it I found myself calming down. I also find that thinking about him gives me the courage to go and meet the other staff, volunteers, and people who come through our doors. I know that he wants me to be brave in this heartbreak and that he wants me to be happy again.
So, for his sake and for my own happy ending, I muster up the courage every day and am now dedicated to finding the next person. I'm looking for someone who can fill my days with as much love, fun, and safety as he once did for me. I always feel sad when my first person goes away, but I have accepted everything he has taught me, found the strength to look forward, and remain optimistic that my future will be bright again. Masu. Could you be my new person? Who will help me get through this change and make my days as fulfilling as He once did? Oh, I certainly hope so! Please come to room 3 to chat.
