An IndiGo passenger recently said he witnessed cockroaches crawling in the dining area of a flight he was on. Tarun Shukla shared a video on X expressing serious concerns about food hygiene on board.
“Cockroaches and airplane eating areas (or anywhere, for that matter) are truly awful. Given that @IndiGo6E has taken a hard look at their fleet and typically flies relatively new @Airbus A320s, why this? Please confirm if this happened,” Shukla wrote.
In another tweet, Shukla shared Indigo's reaction to the video showing the cockroach.
“We are aware that a video showing a dirty corner of one of our aircraft went viral on social media. Our staff immediately took the necessary measures on board. As a precautionary measure, we All vehicles were immediately cleaned and fumigation and disinfection procedures were carried out. At IndiGo, we maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe and hassle-free journey for our passengers. We regret any inconvenience caused,” the airline said.

The video sparked a social media response and condemned the airline. one user wrote: “@IndiGo6E has really gone crazy with dogs. From one of the best in the world to one of the worst. It seems like their leadership has completely given up. It's time for a new low-cost airline. Is not it?”
Another user said, “Very arrogant, lame and irresponsible response on IndiGo's part. DGCA should take note of this incident and take strict action against the airline.”
