IKEA launches UTSÅDD, a lively pet collection developed with input from veterinarians, pet product experts and cat and dog emergency committees to ensure the relevance of each product. Masu. The playful collection of 29 products is based on research into the daily lives, behaviors and preferences of cats and dogs at home and focuses on four different activities: eating, sleeping, playing and hiding. . With UTSÅDD, IKEA aims to simplify and brighten life at home with pets by offering fun products that are easy to clean, stand up to everyday use and blend seamlessly into any home. UTSÅDD will be available in selected markets from April 2024.
Dogs and cats are an essential part of many people's household lives. More and more families are choosing to welcome a four-legged furry member, but just like their human relatives, they too have needs met. IKEA set out to develop a playful collection that takes into account the needs and desires of cats and dogs and their families, with safety as our top priority. After a two-year journey and approval from the Dog and Cat Board, UTSÅDD is finally ready to debut in pet-loving homes around the world.
“At IKEA, we believe that pets are family. Our goal was to develop a collection of products that cat and dog-loving, human parents can feel at ease and truly enjoy as part of their home.” says Julia Rosenberg, Product Design Developer at IKEA of Sweden AB.
UTSÅDD was developed around the four most common activities cats and dogs engage in at home: eating, sleeping, playing, and hiding. This collection is designed to make these activities fun and easy to manage for both pets and humans.
- Colorful food bowls and double-sided non-slip placemats minimize mess while eating. The bowl is ceramic, which makes it heavy and difficult to move, but the placemat helps keep the bowl in place. Available in multiple sizes and even dishwasher and refrigerator safe.
- Soft blankets and cushioned beds blend seamlessly into your home while providing comfort and reducing anxiety when dozing off. They come in a variety of options, materials, and sizes, and some are even machine washable and water-repellent.
- Allen keys and bone-shaped toys are great for hours of retrieving, chewing, and searching for treats. Made from natural rubber and cloth, this toy is carefully designed to be durable and robust, yet gentle on your teeth and gums.
- Modern tents and wicker houses can provide a cozy hiding place for your cat and add a stylish accent to any space. UTSÅDD also includes the latest version of the LURVIG series, which blends well into KALLAX shelving units.
Safety first
Pet safety was considered and prioritized in as many aspects as possible during all stages of UTSÅDD's development.
