It's sad, but sometimes you have to let go of people in your life who don't support you or accept you for who you are.
I would be really sad if that was someone's parent.
This is the guy who wrote this story on Reddit's “Am I the ******?” Paige had to keep his mother away from his work because of her mother's attitude towards his own lifestyle.
Was he wrong?
Let's see what's going on here…
“I (M31) came out to my mother (F54) about 10 years ago.
She couldn't handle it very well. At first we got into a big fight and she apologized but said she didn't feel comfortable talking about my ********* and asked me not to bring it up again. Ta.
It never got better.
I wanted this to be temporary and tried to mention whether or not she was dating someone new over the years, but she always got upset about it, so I didn't want to bring it up. I stopped.
Because of this, we don't talk much.
My husband and I recently got married. I invited her the rest of her family but she didn't invite her or talk about her wedding.
Everyone in the family knows the situation between us, so no one was surprised that she wasn't there.
The words came out…
A few weeks after the wedding, my uncle told her about it, assuming I had told her about it.
Apparently she was really upset that I hadn't told her and ended up crying on his shoulder.
I found out about this when he called me, angry that he had put me in that situation.
The family has since split, with half saying it was cruel not to tell her what was going on.
People in my family are evenly split, so I wanted to get an outside perspective on whether or not I had failed.
Ita? ”
Let's see what people say about this.
One person said he was the Internal Revenue Service and explained why.
Another said you need to do what makes you happy.
This Reddit user said he would have been upset no matter what…
This reader said there was no need to talk to her about this.
And someone said that this is all the mother's fault.
It seems this person did the right thing.
