The Yellow Jackets, ranked 12th in Scoreboard's college rankings and 9th in the Bushnell/GCAA Coaches Poll, finished 6th against a heavy field at the spring Amer Ali Intercollegiate Top Open, ranking higher than Tech-In University. This was the second best team in the world. They are higher in the scoreboard's college rankings than teams ranked below. Tech had a strong fall season, finishing second at the Golf Clubs of Georgia Invitational, third at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational and East Lake Cup, and winning the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational. The fourth annual event, which began in 2021, saw 12 teams compete over three days (Monday through Wednesday) at Sharks Tooth Golf Club at Watersound Resort, with all participating teams competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference or Atlantic Coast Golf Club. Tech lineup – All three of Tech’s returning starters (Lamprecht, Forester, Ty) are in the lineup for the Water Sound Invitational along with freshmen. Cale Fontenot (Lafayette, Louisiana) and Carson Kim (Yorba Linda, California)the same lineup that competed in Amer Ali Intercollegiate last week to kick off spring.
Lamprecht is currently ranked No. 1 in the amateur world and No. 2 in the Scoreboard University Rankings. The 6-8 senior won two games in the fall, winning the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational and the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, and tied for 14th.th He won last week's Golf Club of Georgia College Invitational and Ameer Ali Intercollegiate. He boasts a team-best stroke average of 68.33 and is on pace to set a Tech record for his program.
Forrester, ranked 96th on the scoreboard, led the Yellow Jackets in Hawaii last week and finished tied for eighth with a total of 15 under and 201, the second-lowest 54-hole score of his career. He finished in the top 10 at Olympia Fields and had two top 20 finishes in the fall.Thailand, ranking 105th, tied for 18thth After finishing 14th place, seated at Ameer Alith They put on the best show of fall at a golf club in Georgia.

Tournament information – Georgia Tech has been to the Water Sound Invitational for four consecutive years, winning by five strokes over Alabama in 2022 before finishing one stroke behind Vanderbilt last February. At last year's tournament, Christo Lamprecht tied for second place, with Ross Steelman and Hiroshi Tai also finishing in the top 10.
The tournament follows a traditional collegiate 54-hole, 5-count-4, stroke-play format, with 18 holes played every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The event will be held at the 7,246-yard (par 72) Sharkstooth Golf Course, which was the site of his 2022 ACC Championship.
The 12-team field includes six Atlantic Coast Conference teams: Clemson, No. 13 Florida State, No. 12 Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, and No. 10 Virginia, as well as No. 11 Alabama and No. 3 Vanderbilt. , No. 18 Mississippi State, No. 27 Ohio State, Oklahoma State, and Penn State.
