Fresh off a 29-point victory over No. 6 Kansas, let's take another look at the latest NCAA Tournament predictions for the Texas Tech basketball team.
Most of these predictions were released before the 79-50 victory over the Jayhawks, so the Red Raiders didn't get a huge boost from that win. Not yet, anyway.
The Red Raiders were split in last week's games, losing to Baylor and holding off UCF at home. These contests form the basis of modern predictions.
Last week's prediction:Chris Beard vs. Texas Tech Basketball? Latest NCAA Tournament predictions say it's possible
ESPN: 7th Seed (Eastern Region)
Joe Lunardi stabilized the Red Raiders as a No. 7 seed, but changed the region and matchup from last Tuesday's bracket. He plays for Texas Tech University in the Midwest and heads to Boston to play against No. 10 seed Boise State. Based on this projection, the winner of that game will take the winner between No. 2 seed University of North Carolina and No. 15 seed Colgate University.
CBS Sports: 9th Seed (Midwest Region)
Jerry Palm regularly had Texas Tech's highest projected seeding, but that's no longer the case. Palm dropped the Red Raiders to the No. 9 seed in Monday afternoon's slot. There, Tech will face No. 8 seed Nevada in Indianapolis, while top overall seed Purdue awaits the winner (if the Boilermakers beat the No. 16 seed).
Fox Sports: 9th seed (Midwest Region)
Another No. 9 seed prediction for the Red Raiders comes from Mike DeCourcy of Fox Sports. Like Lunardi and Palm, DeCourcy had Texas Tech as the No. 7 seed in last week's roundup. This prediction shows that Red's Raiders will again play against 8th seed Indiana in the same region as Purdue.
Field of 68: 8 Seed (Eastern Region)
Released on Monday afternoon, 68 updated bracket fields Texas Tech is the No. 8 seed and will play No. 9 seed Florida. Connecticut State is the top seed in the region.
