Not only can you tour the shelter and meet the many dogs and cats available for adoption and fostering, you can also play baseball-themed carnival games and snack on hot dogs and other concessions. Masu.
The game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals will be shown on large screens in the shelter.
As a highlight of the shelter, there will also be a special mock baseball game between the Burlington Strays and the County Cats. All adoption fees will be waived that day, and each team's honorary mascot will circle the bases each time each team obtains an adoption.
The first pitch of the game will be thrown at noon, and the dog and cat teams will take to the field.
All-star pets available for adoption
Among the all-star pets that visitors can meet and cheer on is Bella, a 4- to 5-year-old Cane Corso who was surrendered to the shelter last summer. Although Bella is an older dog, she loves playing with toys. She is a strong walker and she knows basic commands. She becomes captain of the Burlington Strays.
Joining Bella's canine side is Rusty, a 6-year-old pit bull terrier mix who was brought to the shelter as a stray in November. He knows basic commands and is full of love.
The County Cats are captained by Chucky, a dapper 7-year-old domestic shorthair boy. He was adopted from a shelter three years ago, but was surrendered in February because his owners could no longer afford to keep him. Chucky is very active and brings us toys. He loves people of all ages.
Another standout on the County Cats team is Colette, a 2-year-old calico cat who was found in Burlington Township but never adopted. She is kind and talkative.
