The staff at Wild Health is knowledgeable about fitness sports. Many of the doctors, specialists and support staff who work at the company are CrossFitters. But they don't just serve the elite of our sport. They work with high-level competitors like Fee Sagafi, Brooke Wells, and Alexis Raptis, as well as everyday athletes and gym-goers. Wild Health aims to provide individuals with a truly unique and holistic health care experience.
Wild Health welcomes you to the world and methodology of CrossFit, as we challenge ourselves every day in the gym to not only build community and strengthen emotional bonds, but also to get stronger, faster, and prevent disease. You can see that it blends in completely. CrossFit is a holistic training method, and for me, Wild Health fits very well into the brilliant puzzle of growing old beautifully and healthily while training hard and staying competitive.
I was fortunate enough to experience Wild Health's protocols and testing first-hand.
It's been about a month and here are the updates so far.
My stats: I'm a 40 year old woman and have been an avid CrossFitter for 10 years. Before that, she was a competitive ultrarunner, so she feels that physical activity has a long history in some way. Additionally, I have been a vegan since 2011. We pay close attention to macros, micros, activity levels, and maximizing health as much as possible. I believe that knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your body and health, so the more I learned about what Wild Health had to offer its members, the more intrigued I became. Ta.
Although I feel like I know a lot about my body and what it needs, there are still many areas that I still have more questions about, especially as a woman in the midst of my Masters athlete years. Is what I give my body every day really what it needs? Am I overtraining? Lack of training? Are you eating too much? Are you eating too little? My job is very stressful, but I wanted to know if it's putting a permanent strain on me.
How to use: After signing up for an account, I went through some onboarding, including a survey asking about my lifestyle, habits, and goals. It was thorough and only took about 20 minutes. It sparked some inner reflection about my daily fitness, what I look for in my training, and what I want to learn on this journey.
I then met with my health coach and discussed all this data in person so she could get to know me a little better. I was reluctant because I thought a strict diet would cause problems, but she assured me that Wild Health caters to all lifestyles and customizes care completely to the individual.
She walked me through the next steps. I will send a saliva sample and a blood sample and stop by a lab in my city for additional blood tests. It all seemed very simple and able to accommodate my very busy schedule.
A personalized dashboard will show you the tasks you need to accomplish, and you can communicate with your health coach and ask for clarification on anything along the way.
First 30 days: My initial assumption was correct. This process was all very easy and required very little effort on my part.
Samples have been shipped and we are currently awaiting results. As soon as they arrive, schedule a virtual appointment with your doctor. The doctor reviews the results and submits her 50-page report that fully outlines my genetic blueprint. This will serve as the basis for my future care and allow my doctor and health coach to coordinate my plans. They present me with specific options that I can make to optimize my performance, including micro and macronutrients and recovery techniques.
First impression: I really feel this is a service I've been missing. I am very interested in my health and body and am always looking for ways to optimize my performance, age healthily, and prevent disease.
The idea that Wild Health can give me such specific feedback on what I need to tweak to improve my lifestyle is empowering and inspiring. I've sometimes felt overwhelmed and a little hopeless with the lack of personalized care you don't get at a standard doctor's visit, but this new method of preventive care is exciting.
We are looking forward to the detailed report and will update you as soon as we receive it. In the meantime, check out Wild Health for yourself and see if it resonates with you as much as it does with me.
