LUNENBURG – Integrative care for your four-legged furry friends will be a hot topic at the upcoming book signing for “Healing Paws: The Powerful Benefits of Pet Rehabilitation.”
Co-author and Lunenburg resident Marina Docter will appear at a book signing with co-author Renee DeSimone at Concepts Art Studio in Leominster on February 10 from 1 to 4 p.m.
“Healing Paws” provides pet parents with valuable insight into the many benefits that integrated care can provide to sick furry companions, and helps pet parents become their beloved companion's best advocate and guide. We provide important knowledge and tools to help you become a better caregiver.
Published by Doktor's Small Dog Publishing to share how pets with movement disorders, injuries, pain, or neurological conditions can experience significant improvements in quality of life through rehabilitation techniques. I wrote a book about it. The story of five dogs (Stanley, Effie, Sako, Pixie, and Ozzie) and her cat, Malibu.
All are real-life pets who have experienced transformative healing at the hands of DeSimone, co-owner of Canine Strong (caninestrong.com) in Concord, New Hampshire. There, a certified veterinarian and certified rehabilitation assistant serve as lead surgical technicians and treat pets through massage, strength training, and conditioning rehabilitation for a variety of issues, including post-surgical care, lameness and lameness, arthritis, and decreased mobility. We support. obesity.
For the past three years, DeSimone has been rehabilitating Doctor's 7-year-old blue merle Pomeranian, Luna, and continues to visit Doctor's home in Lunenburg weekly for Luna's treatment. The Doctor lives with her husband and their two dogs, Luna and their one-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever, Nyla, in her husband's childhood hometown.
An avid animal lover, she also publishes other works through Small Dog Publishing and donates the majority of proceeds from her handmade jewelry business, Deeper Purpose Designs, to animal welfare charities.
Dr. DeSimone and DeSimone were inspired to write “Healing Paws” because of their experience with Luna's health issues and to make other pet parents aware of rehabilitation care options they may not know exist. This was the result of her desire.
“There are a wide variety of conditions that cannot be completely treated but can be improved through rehabilitation,” the former Fitchburg resident said. “In some cases, surgery can be avoided. In other cases, pet parents who have been told there is nothing veterinary can do for their sick pets find that rehabilitation can do wonders to improve their pet's quality of life. In some cases, you can really feel it. We want animals to have the best life possible.”
Pets will also be attending an autograph session at the same time and location on Snow Day, February 11th. “Healing Paws” is endorsed by veterinarians and other industry professionals and is available in paperback and Kindle formats on Amazon.
Sally Craigin, Director of Be PAWSitive Therapy Pets and Community Education in Fitchburg, highly recommends Healing Paws and says, “I am at a loss to understand my dog's physiological needs and understand the best treatment options.'' “It speaks to the loving owners who spend their lives in the dead of their lives.” ”
“This is an elegant and essential text for those of us who view our pets as family members and care deeply about their comfort, and it is for everyone.”
