The Hamilton County Auditor is resigning because he is facing serious health issues, a letter was sent to state boards. Auditor General Brigid Kelly announced her resignation on Wednesday. “It is a difficult decision to resign from the Comptroller's Office, but I need to focus on my personal health,” the letter said. Amy Humphrey, principal deputy auditor, has been appointed interim auditor. Mr. Kelly has served as county auditor since March 2023. “We completed needed reassessments for more than 350,000 parcels in the county, modernized the Board of Revision process, increased staffing to better serve voters, and created more equity. We work with other organizations to better explain the function and role of our office and advocate for policy changes that help more people live better lives. ,” Kelly said in the letter. Gwen McFarlin, Chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party, released a statement regarding Kelly's resignation, saying, “I am disappointed to learn of the resignation of Auditor Brigid Kelly. “He has made a tremendous contribution to the Board of Directors. I have known the auditors for many years.” “Over the years, I have admired her intelligence, work ethic, and dedication to her constituents.
