Folashade Oluseye, a home health assistant with Open Systems Healthcare, has been named a 2023 Frontline Honors recipient by Home Health Care News.
To become a front-line recipient, individuals are nominated by their peers. Candidates must be dedicated and talented frontline workers who bring outstanding experience and results. Passionate workers who know how to translate their vision into action for the benefit of seniors and aging industry professionals. They are advocates for seniors, their industries and their colleagues.
Home Health Care News spoke with Oluseye to talk about their time in the home health care industry.
HHCN: What drew you to this industry?
Orseai: I was drawn to the home health care industry because I love making a difference in the lives of others.
HHCN: What is the biggest lesson you have learned since starting in this industry?
Orseai: The biggest lessons have been that my self-awareness, listening skills, ability to respect, and tolerance have improved.
HHCN: What do you like most about your job?
Orseai: My favorite part of my job is the satisfaction of helping the helpless and making a difference, and the importance of building personal relationships.
HHCN: What would you like society (or the general public) to know about your work?
Orseai: We want society to know that the role of caregivers is essential and deserves recognition and respect.
HHCN: What is something you wish leaders knew about your work that they don’t know?
Orseai: If leaders are widely aware of the value of emotional intelligence, they will be able to build more effective teams and create a more collaborative and productive work environment.
