Last week, I attended a meet-and-greet with alumni of a growth and personal development program called “The Project,” who graduated in July 2019.
Over 200 men have graduated from the program, and this past weekend I had the opportunity to attend a one-day meet-and-greet with 50 of them. It consisted of great training, mentoring, and networking.

The project is a 75-hour program that debilitates men physically, emotionally, and psychologically by exposing them to stressful situations for three consecutive days. We get very little sleep and are put through a mini “week in hell” by five instructors, most of them from the military.
It breaks us down and brings us back up and makes us stronger. It exposes our toxic cognitions and weaknesses, destroys our limiting thoughts and beliefs, and becomes the 2.0 version of ourselves.
About 60% of people who signed up for the project rang the bell and quit. That's why I love the opportunity to connect at face-to-face events like this. 18 classes have graduated, so not everyone knows. But I know that everyone in this room can endure pain and suffering and not give up.
That's a personality trait that many people don't have in today's society. Look at how many people throw in the towel when the going gets tough. Look at how many people around you are a little overweight and unwell. See how many people give up on their New Year's resolutions by the end of February.
Why am I telling you this?
Because I want to keep in mind that in order to succeed in life, we must endure and overcome pain, suffering, and adversity every day. It is best to keep moving towards your goal, regardless of the terrain.
Let's be honest: life is complex and challenging, and anything worthwhile requires courage and determination. Anything of value!!
Becoming a medical professional takes years of hard work.
Becoming a Navy SEAL involves a lot of mental and physical pain.
Running a business with a team requires a lot of trial and error.
Getting a great body shape requires time, effort, and a lot of sacrifice.
It takes long hours and sleepless nights to earn a lot of money.
This is why people who work out have a more solid, never-quitting work ethic. If you have the patience to consistently push through tough training sessions, adversity in everyday life will become more manageable, and even mundane daily tasks will yield positive results.
Every day we decide whether to become quitters or warriors.
The difference between success and failure is your ability to get back up and keep moving forward.
Before joining the project in 2019, I was reactive, irrational, anxious, depressed, and had a sense of victimhood and entitlement. I used to think that I deserved more, that I didn't have to wake up at 4am to make a living, that I should be more successful than I was.
In other words, I was angry about the work I didn't do and the results I didn't get.
Fast forward to today and I realized I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Since the project, I have focused on my leadership skills and become more open to guidance by following the lead of others and never wandering through difficult situations.
Now I am facing my problems and adversity head on. Because I have gone through tough situations and am better equipped to deal with the tough shots that life throws at us.
I’ll end this article by telling you that you are not alone.
Everyone wants to quit at some point. But to be truly successful at anything, you have to do what you need to do, not just what you want to do.
Remember that going to the gym is difficult for everyone, but many people do it.
It's even harder to do consistently, but others are doing it.
It takes more time to protect your nutrition, but others are doing it too.
It's hard to get up in the morning to make a living, but some people do it.
Overtime is even harder, but some people work overtime.
Working 12 hours a day is more complicated, but all wealthy people do it.
If others can do these things, so can you.
We can find a way or make up an excuse.
The choice is yours, so choose pain, because pain mimics transformation!!
