In the fifth homicide in 24 hours in Birmingham, a man was found murdered outside a small business off the Bessemer Super Highway Sunday morning.
Birmingham police identified the victim as Eliazin Dominguez-Solis. He was 37 years old.
It was discovered by a passerby just after 10 a.m. at 6233 Brockton Avenue, in the Bessemer, Brighton, Midfield and Lipscomb neighborhoods of Birmingham.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said he received a call from a person outside what appeared to be a restaurant or club. The name on the door says He's El Rincon, but it wasn't immediately clear if that was the current name of the store.
Dominguez-Solis suffered obvious trauma, but Fitzgerald said it was too early to tell whether he was shot, stabbed or punched.
He was on the sidewalk near the store's entrance.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the man dead at the scene.
“We believe someone driving by saw the victim lying unresponsive and called 911,” Fitzgerald said.
