Alonso has revealed that he is at a crossroads in his career, considering whether to remain in F1 beyond this season. Realizing he wanted to stay in the sport, Alonso broke new terms with Aston Martin to stay in the sport for at least two more years.
Therefore, Alonso being removed from the driver market means that there is no longer a theoretical possibility of a move to Red Bull or Mercedes.
