Madeline Feliciano Weiser, nurse manager at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, received the #NAHNStrong award from the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN). She is one of eight people in the nation to receive this award and the only recipient from Pennsylvania.

The #NAHNStrong program recognizes NAHN members who treat others with dignity, respect, kindness, compassion, and courtesy while working with and across communities. Honorees are nominated by fellow NAHN members and supporters and selected by the NAHN Communications Committee.
Feliciano Weiser's nomination highlighted her commitment to creating a culturally diverse workforce within the department. Before joining the Lancaster Medical She Center, she served as a clinical coordinator at the Penn State Cancer Institute, where she assisted patients and families with limited English proficiency. Her efforts have made sufficient resources available in her native language, improving her ability to understand diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plans, and side effects.
The nomination also recognized Feliciano Weiser's multiple publications, speaking engagements, and interviews related to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Feliciano-Weiser chairs the Lancaster Medical Center DEI Committee and is a member of the health system's diversity council, where she helped develop a system-wide document outlining DEI priorities.
In addition to the #NAHNStrong award, Feliciano Weiser received the Penn State Health Center's Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Strengthening Award in November. This recognition honors her long-standing commitment to DEI and her efforts to create a culturally diverse workforce.
