In celebration of Earth Month, Drive Electric Hawaii and the Hawaii EV Association will host a series of Drive Electric Earth Day events across the islands. These events are dedicated to promoting awareness and education about electric vehicles (EVs), showcasing the latest EV technology, and promoting the adoption of sustainable transportation options.
The Maui event will be held on Earth Day, Monday, April 22, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the EV charging station on the University of Hawai'i Maui College campus, 310 W. Kaahumanu Street.
“Hawaii passed a major milestone in February with more than 30,000 electric passenger vehicle registrations, and the demand for clean and efficient transportation is greater than ever,” said Rob Weltman of the Maui EV Association. It has become clear that there is.”
All Drive Electric Earth Day events are free and open to the public. These events are designed to be informative, accessible, and engaging for everyone, from experienced EV enthusiasts to those just starting to consider going electric.
Highlights of the event include:
- EV technology showcase: Attendees will have the opportunity to see and learn about the latest electric vehicles and e-bikes.
- Test drive and drive: Participants will be able to experience electric vehicles first-hand through test drives and driving, subject to availability.
- Owner insight: Current EV owners share their experiences, including benefits and practical tips for owning and charging an EV.
- Environmental and economic benefits: Information is provided about the environmental benefits of electric transportation and the financial incentives available to prospective EV owners, including tax rebates and incentives for EVs, e-bikes, chargers, and more.
