Here's what we know about older Chinese women's decisions
According to the South China Morning Post, a Shanghai-based woman surnamed Liu made her first will several years ago. At that time, the woman decided to leave money and property to her three children.
But then the woman became unwell and changed her mind. The outlet added that her children did not visit or care for her during her illness. Moreover, they hardly contact her.
The woman reportedly explained, “My pet cat and dog are the only ones keeping me by my side.''
So the woman amended her will, requesting that her $2.8 million estate be used to care for her pets and their offspring after her death.
The newspaper reported that a local veterinary hospital has been appointed administrator of Liu's estate. The clinic also takes care of women's pets.
The South China Morning Post reported that Liu was informed of the risks of entrusting money to the clinic. It is further said that she could amend her own will “if her children change her attitude towards her”.
According to the South China Morning Post, an official from the East China branch of the China Will Registration Center said, “We told Aunt Liu that if the children change their attitude towards her, she can change the will again at any time.'' “I did,” he explained.
At this point, it's unclear whether the woman has other options in mind.

Guy Fieri has recently made headlines for his decisions regarding his vast fortune.
Unlike other women who don't seem to want to leave their children the chance to access their heritage, Guy Fieri is laying out a roadmap for his children to inherit his legacy. As The Shade Room previously reported, the Emmy Award-winning TV host requires his children to earn two degrees in order to inherit the coin.
“Shaq said it best. Shaq said, 'If you want this cheese, you have to go twice.' Well, my boyfriend's two degrees mean graduate school. So, they're on their way,” he explained in an interview with Fox News published in December.
