William Taylor has been matched with a family medicine residency at ECU Health. Taylor is also an alumnus of ECU's faculty and soon-to-be medical school. He said growing up in a small town made him connected to the needs of eastern North Carolina.
“We've grown a lot now, but when I was growing up, Garner didn't have as many resources as big cities like Raleigh. I wanted to give,” Taylor said. “Greenville is my second home and I look forward to learning how to care for the people of North Carolina and Eastern North Carolina and making an impact in this region.”
Taylor is excited to remain in Greenville, complete her family medicine residency, and continue to build relationships with patients throughout the region.
“I want to pursue family medicine because it allows me to be closest to patients, develop long-term relationships and interactions, and have a real impact on patients, their lives, and their families,” Taylor said.
Growing up in Eastern North Carolina, several ECU Health games by Brody made the matchday envelope-opening moment even more exciting.
Nolan Davis is a native of Duplin County and has fond memories of growing up in a small town close to his family. Davis attended Brody's in second grade and created a poster saying he wanted to become a doctor in eastern North Carolina, his mother, Bernice, said. Davis is one step closer to that goal after matching his first choice in internal medicine and pediatrics at ECU Health.
“Eastern North Carolina is a great region, but it's underserved,” Davis said. “My family lives here, there are good people living here who deserve quality medical care, and Brody is good at making us do that. How difficult it is to find a doctor in a small town. I've seen it happen and want to be part of the solution. I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina and plan to practice here after residency.”
