A fire destroyed a house in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, killing three pets. A duplex at 53 Old Bedford Road was gutted by intense flames early Sunday afternoon. Mandy Adao, who lives in the house, said she was there with his son at the time. She heard a “crackling” sound coming from an upstairs bedroom and soon saw flames rising up the side of the building. “I screamed for her son. He came out and we ran downstairs. We couldn't even go out the door because the whole house was on fire,” Adao said. Adao said. “So I say, 'Go through the living room and out the window.' I push him out the window, tell the dog to follow me, run back, get my keys and wallet, and jump out the window. Another woman who lives on the other side of the duplex was also able to escape from the burning house. Sadly, three cats died in the fire. Mandy's husband, David Adao, works nearby and she rushed home to catch a glimpse of her home engulfed in flames. Witnesses told News Center 5 that the fire appeared to start on the side porch next door. The Addao family lost everything in the fire, and friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help them rebuild. The cause of the fire has not yet been officially determined.
