ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Donald Swartz, owner and operator of Veneto on East Avenue, said this time last year his business was closed for several months due to an electrical fire. But now business is coming back, he says, and large crowds are expected.
“We usually draw a good crowd, we draw a crowd to watch the parade, we draw a crowd after the parade is over, we draw a crowd until late, we draw a dinner crowd. , that's great.'' It's a very busy day for us. It’s a busy day for all the bars and restaurants along this route,” Swartz said.
One of the bars he's referring to is a new cocktail bar that opened two and a half months ago called Aqua Vitae, right next door. Bar manager Joe Soto said he's ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
“We have a good game plan for tomorrow, but once the doors open it's probably all going to go away, so we'll see, but we're ready for that. We're enjoying the craziness of it. ,” Soto said.
One regular customer, Sean Danahy, also known as DJ Danahy, stopped by ahead of the crowd to quench his thirst.Tomorrow will be a busy day, he says, but he will make time to support the people of Aqua Vitae.
“I’m going to get a few shifts across the street at the Studio Lounge here and then finish up the street at Murphy’s Law, but I’m going to stop here for a bit,” Dunahy said.
