Some employees classified as DPS (e.g., nurses, janitors, maintenance staff, instructional assistants) received more of their salaries from July to December 2023 than they should have. Ta. These amounts were processed in the October, November, and December payrolls.
DPS said the error stemmed from a pay stub that was approved confidentially in October.

After a three-hour closed session, DPS Board of Education Chairwoman Bettina Umstead released a statement saying the payment error had “negatively impacted the entire DPS family.”
“I am sorry for any harm caused,” Umstead said. “We want to make it clear that we value each of our employees and are working hard to resolve the situation and restore trust.”
