Meghan Markle just announced a surprising business venture via Instagram, and we're sure you're excited too.
The Duchess of Sussex launched her account under the handle @americanrivieraochard on March 14 and has already amassed nearly 200,000 followers. Nine posts only offer a preview of the brand's logo, but the Instagram profile confirms that it is “by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.” There is also a link to her website for the company where you can add your email to the waiting list.
So what's behind this mysterious newsletter? According to the official trademark, American Riviera Orchard sells cookbooks, table cutlery, tableware, textiles, retail goods, coffee and tea. may sell a large number of household and kitchen products, such as tableware, napkin rings, etc. As if that wasn't enough, you may also be able to purchase edible products such as jellies, marmalades, vegetable-based spreads, and nut butters.
Before her engagement to Prince Harry, Ms. Markle was very active with her interactive lifestyle blog, The Tig, which includes various travel diaries, recipes, and personal reflections. Although there is no proof behind the brand name, American Riviera likely refers to Markle's current home of Montecito, California, an affluent area of Santa Barbara.
A story on her Instagram account shows Markle in the kitchen baking bread and arranging white flowers, while Nancy Wilson's “I Wish You Love” plays in the background. Between this preview and Markle's 2022 collaboration with IKEA, her lifestyle brand will no doubt reflect her exceptional taste.
Keep an eye on the American Riviera Orchard website and follow the official Instagram account to see what else the Duchess is up to.
