Dogs and cats are known for not getting along, but in reality, many get along well, and some even become like siblings.
A dog walker melted people's hearts on social media when she shared a clip on social media of the dog she was walking and her cheerful cat sister who felt the need to protect her. In a post shared on TikTok by the username thecrazydoggirl on Thursday, the author can be seen wearing a dog carrier and keeping her Chihuahua named Great inside for some fresh air at a park.
She says Greta doesn't actually walk. She is 16 years old and she hardly walks anymore, but when she does, she explains, it's mainly because she uses her carrier.
As the two are walking, Poster begins to notice strange things, like someone is following them. And she was exactly right.
“Apparently their cat likes to come along. Are you kidding?” she said to the cat. “Are you coming with me?”
The post is captioned, “This is the best thing I can't do.”
As Greta and her sister prove in the video, dogs and cats can live together without any problems and can even become best friends. Neither of us think we're infringing on the other's space, because the important thing is to introduce it in the right way.
newsweek previously explained that taking things slowly helps avoid bad first impressions.
At least initially, you need your own space in the house where you can be separated from each other. It is also important not to allow them to interact unsupervised until they are comfortable enough.
If you notice defensive behavior such as hissing or growling, it means you need to take a step back and give it time.
The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing viewers from across Instagram. It has received more than 339,500 views and 67,100 likes on the platform.
One user, Dani, commented: “The cat is trying to keep you from stealing his dog.” And space_windu47 said, “When I was walking my friend's dog, all the cats in the barn were following me, so I decided to walk my friend's dog, and all the cats in the barn would follow, so I decided to walk my friend's dog like Pied Piper, with two dogs and his eight cats.'' It makes me feel good,” he said.
Kayewhite_ added: “Why did I think it was a big dog and I guess he was trying to put it in a backpack or something? It was so small so I was very relieved.”
