Following France's 13-all draw with Italy in the Six Nations, here's how we assessed Fabien Galthie's charges.
France vs Italy player ratings
15 Thomas Ramos: While Jalibert was solid as a full-back when he was on the pitch, he became largely ineffective when converted to fly-half. France's 6-2 bench gamble didn't pay off today. Ramos doesn't have the game management to play fly-half at Test level. 3
14 Damien Penault: Anju Capozzo scored in the closing stages to tie the score. There were some good moments in attack, but there were unnecessary risks and no reward. Four
13 Gael Fickou: He did the best he could in midfield when his center partner lost his cool and was understandably forced to take an early shower. Had it not been for the performance of the defensive midfield captain, this could have been Italy's first victory over France. 7
12 Jonathan Danti: There were some good moments before his sending off, but a lazy and bad tackle that, frankly, was a troubling feature of his game today, robbed France of victory. 1
11 Matisse Level: His call-up to the squad was delayed as he was scheduled to start against Toulouse this weekend. He took his chances relatively well and there were few negatives. Five
half back
10 Mathieu Jalibert: The French attackers actually seemed to be purring with him on the pitch, kicking him out of reach. He squandered a chance with a botched pass in the 22nd minute, but otherwise was solid until injury ended his appearance. Five
9 Maxim Luk: Indecision crept into the match as France continued to be without Antoine Dupont. He often misread the attack and turned before passing the ball, which was better than in other games, but he still stuttered. Four
loose forward
8 François Clos: He has been one of France's best players this season and today he performed similarly well at the breakdown. He was strong on defense, a good carry, and filled the void left by Gregory Aldritt. 7
7 Charles Ollivon: He was one of the surprisingly early substitutes as he was one of the best forwards on the pitch. He was probably lucky to score and should have finished the match as captain. 6
6 Paul Budegend: The La Rochelle star took advantage of the chance to start in Aldritt's absence, making tackles with both hands, making great breaks and focusing on defense. 6
tight five
5 Posolo Tuilagi: Due to his outstanding performance, he was substituted early in the second half. He attracted Italian defenders every time he touched the ball, whether he put it on the line or not. He's already a star, what a talent. 7
4 Cameron Woki: He has been a little mediocre this Six Nations and today was no exception. The lineout was better today, but it was one of the few good contributions he made. Four
3 Wini Atonio: He was solid at the scrum, his main job, drawing defenders on his carries but scoring very little in terms of meters. Five
2 Pete Mauvaca: Like many of his team-mates, he is nowhere near the level he was at the Rugby World Cup, but it's amazing to see him continue to defend his starting jumper after his performances in the first two games. Some of his pitches were again erratic and he could do little in open play. Four
1 Cyril Baille: It was an unforgettable result for France, achieving the milestone of 50 Test caps. The loosehead prop scrummed well, handled the ball well and played a defensive role. Five
Replacement: After Danti was sent off, Galthie took a gamble on the bench to try and breathe some fresh air into the game, but to no avail. Perhaps he pulled the trigger too soon, and in some cases too late, and that's what he did. Either way, they had a job to do and they didn't do it. 2
