Basseterre, Saint Kitts – Ministry of Tourism Permanent Secretary Tivanna Wharton recently gave insight into the Tourism Marketing Organization, which has implemented effective marketing and promotional campaigns to increase awareness and visibility of St. Kitts and Nevis as a tourist destination.
She made the remarks during an appearance on the popular radio and television program “In Focus” on February 14th.
Ms. Wharton highlighted a recent viral video showing a cluster of taxis in New York City, where the taxis were wrapped in the logo of a St. Kitts tourism campaign.
“It is one of our main source markets and having our brand so visible in a place that is visited by millions of people every day is a great way to increase brand awareness and increase tourism. “It's a demonstration of the work we're doing in terms of raising the profile of St. Kitts as a guest 'destination,'” she said.
PS Wharton added: “Not only is it wrapped in St. Kitts branding, but if you look closely at the top there's also a video. A series of short clips of video showing picturesque views of our beautiful destination. It's flowing.”
The back of the cab also features a website www.visitstkitts.com that highlights the destination's popular sites and stories and highlights sustainability as part of the Venture Deeper campaign.
Commenting on the timing of the marketing campaign in New York, the Permanent Secretary emphasized that cold weather creates an opportunity to promote warm, sunny destinations as escapes. This addition is in line with the wider strategy implemented by the Ministry of Tourism.
Additionally, Saint Kitts and Nevis is gaining global attention through collaborations with multiple marketing channels, travel agencies, and tour operators, resulting in significantly increased brand exposure on the international stage. she pointed out.
Secretary Wharton also said the addition of JetBlue Airways, InterCaribbean Airlines and Caribbean Airlines will make visiting the Commonwealth more convenient for travelers, and the increase in nonstop flights will reduce travel times and make destinations more accessible for visitors. He added that it would be easier.
