- “Consistency is key to living a healthy lifestyle,” she writes.
- Fans appreciated her simple advice and accountability.
The “secrets” to getting and staying in shape are often overcomplicated by fad diets and trending fitness routines. According to Dennis Austin, the key to staying healthy is actually simple. The 67-year-old longtime fitness instructor shared how to do just that on his new Instagram account.
“I'm often asked what's the key to getting and staying healthy, and my number one answer is always… BE CONSISTENT!” she captioned the post. As with any skin care routine, it will be difficult to get results if, for example, you change the regimen from one to the next or have too many breaks.
“Consistency is key to living a healthy lifestyle,” Austin continued. But she stressed that it's not always perfect. In other words, it's all about balance. “I exercise consistently most days of the week and eat a balanced meal most of the time. It's so easy!!” she wrote. “You're worth it. Once that consistency becomes part of your routine unconsciously, you'll feel better!!”
Austin recommended downloading the Dennis Austin Fitness app to access specific workouts and recipes that she does every day.
Fans appreciated her simple and practical advice. “So true! ❤❤,” one person commented. “You are my accountability coach!!!! 😍❤👏,” another added. “Just when I needed some inspiration for the best of the best! Thanks for showing up, Dennis! 👏,” someone else wrote.
To be consistent, of course you need to start. Austin's tips for motivating your workouts are just as simple. “Start small. Even a simple 8-10 minute workout is great,” she wrote on Instagram. “Make it convenient. Your best workout is the one you do,” she continued. And finally, “Let's make a schedule!” she wrote. “If it's on your calendar, you're more likely to stick to it.”
Not sure which workout to start with? Try Austin's set of low-impact burpees or her 5-minute heart-healthy workout. Who would have thought staying healthy could be this easy?
