Despite Kim Mulkey's more conservative outfit and Angel Reese's 17 points, the LSU Tigers lost to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
After the Hawkeyes lost to LSU in the national championship last season, Iowa was clearly looking for revenge (despite what Clark said before the game).
Reese had a great performance in the first half with 13 points and 8 rebounds. However, the Tigers' star players stalled in the second half, allowing LSU to only score four extra points.
After the 94-87 loss to the Hawkeyes, Tiger fans flooded social media to share their disappointment that their team's season was coming to an end.
At the end of the day, the game judges the game, and many LSU fans agreed that Iowa is a great team.
Clark finished the game with 41 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds for the Hawkeyes.
“I knew I was going to be OK,” Clark said. “I have to give them a lot of credit. They had a great year.”
Iowa celebrity fan Jason Sudeikis also joined in on the fun and got to stalk the Tigers…
Overall, the LSU Tigers have nothing to be ashamed of this year.
Kim Mulkey has done a great job coaching this team. He Reese had an elite season. Frauge Johnson has evolved into an All-Star player. The Tigers were really good. The Tigers will be back next season.
Iowa State will play the winner of USC vs. UConn in the Final Four on April 5. No matter what happens, the Hawkeyes will have another formidable opponent in front of them.
