Introducing this week's CVAS Pet of the Week: Kits and Mittens. These are just two of his amazing animals that live at local animal shelters.
Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter There are many cute pets looking for their forever homes. While Kit and Mittens would love to meet you, be sure to check out all the other adorable animals up for adoption.go here animal shelter Click on the link to see all residents.
CVAS encourages anyone looking to bring a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoption at shelters.
Pets become homeless for a variety of reasons and need a new home and a second chance. If you're looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter's many residents. They all make great pets and great companions.
Currently, adoptions are by appointment only, and this is working very well. Donors also provided supplies and funds for homeless animals at the shelter.

kit
Kit came to the shelter as a stray dog, but it turns out he loves attention and walks. She does pull on the leash a little, but she does well with the “no-pull” kind of leash. She knows that Kit likes to carry toys around in the play area and that she will sit and rock.
She is a 2 year old terrier mix who is willing to work to please and for treats. Age restrictions may apply to children in the household, as there is no history of contact with children in the past, so please discuss this with the shelter staff. Kit wants to know what her loving forever home is.
mittens
Mittens was spotted running by police and taken to a shelter. No one came forward for this sweet girl, so she is now looking for a home to call her own. Mittens is about 2 years old and loves having her belly rubbed. In fact, she asks for it often. She is an energetic girl, so she needs someone to make her exercise regularly.
Age restrictions may apply to children in your household, as energy and excitement levels may make mittens too much for young children. Please consult with the staff at the evacuation center. Mitten tested positive for the tick-borne disease known as anaplasmosis and is currently taking medication and is doing well. Is there a good place to put mittens?
