January has passed in the blink of an eye. good. We're tired of Mother Nature's two weeks in a row of bad weather.
This is not a bull! January will soon fade from memory, and the “so-so” feeling of winter will be replaced by plenty of fun.
Try this for something else. Visit the Muscogee Art Guild calendar every Thursday to check your interest in art experiences. In the future, you will be able to participate with watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, and other art mediums.
Thursdays are busy with events. A book club for adults will be held at the Muskogee Public Library. Muscogee County Master Gardener meetings will be held at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
Also on the day is a grand opening and chamber ribbon-cutting at the newly renovated Muskogee brick mansion at 2601 W. Ave. at 2 p.m. Broadway. The space is named Three Rivers Bed and Breakfast.
Get ready to ride the bull at the 2024 BRI National Finals at the Muskogee Civic Center. Tickets are available for purchase Friday through Saturday. This celebration is sure to lift your spirits. ” Bull Riders Inc. was founded in 2011 and is aimed at entertaining riders, stock contractors, and small town riding enthusiasts.
If that's not enough bashing for you, consider attending the Bingo Bash at the Bedouin Temple on Saturday at 2pm. Doors open at 1 p.m. There will be prizes, food, drinks and 50-50 games. $35 at the door.
Additionally, the annual Bass Reeves Memorial Ceremony will be held at the Three Rivers Museum on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Three Rivers Museum announced that after four years of planning and fundraising, an artist has been selected to sculpt the Reeves statue. The artist is Joel Randall, and his work will create a fitting memorial to U.S. Vice Marshal Bass Reeves.
A songwriter exchange is scheduled for Feb. 1 at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
Of course, love is in the air in February. Check your calendar for February 10th. A Valentine's Day mini-session will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
Also starting at 10 a.m., the 8th Annual Legacy Keepers Event will recognize four Legacy Keeping organizations. There will also be a presentation of the first-ever Legacy Business Awards.
On February 10th, Pecan Creek Winery will host a drop-in chocolate and wine pairing where you can enjoy a glass of wine for $20.The event runs from 3pm to 6pm
Back to the music — The McCauley Sisters will take the stage at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame on February 8 at 7 p.m. Casey West is scheduled for February 15th.
It's never too early to check ticket availability for the February 17 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Hall of Fame inductees include Ricochet, Brian White, Timothy Long, Verlon Thompson, Shelby Eicher, David Webb and Jerry Huffer.
Don't forget to check your calendar for the rescheduled Martin Luther King Jr. event for February 19th. Events include a pancake breakfast, church service, parade, party, car show, food trucks, live music, kids zone, and more.
