When switching your dog to a new food, do so gradually over 10 to 15 days to avoid indigestion.
EVENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) – The office of State Representative Frank Burns (D-Cambria) is partnering with local elementary schools in Cambria County to collect pet food donations throughout the month of April.
Burns said he is organizing the event to support local shelters that care for animals in need of homes, and hopefully draw attention to the cost of caring for them.
“I regularly host this pet food drive during Animal Cruelty Prevention Month as a way to draw attention to the plight of animals facing abuse and neglect,” Burns said in a press release. “The shelter is where these animals end up, or where they are used if they find an animal wandering the streets, and to take care of all these animals while they wait for a new home. This activity is intended to provide some assistance.
Non-perishable items can be dropped off at either Barnes' offices at 535 Fairfield Ave. in Johnstown or 123 W. High St. in Ebensburg during regular business hours. Many local elementary schools are also participating, and students from those schools can drop off items in donation boxes in their classrooms.

Donations will be collected at a local collection point in Johnstown at the end of the month. If you have any questions, please contact Congressman Burns' office by calling 814-472-8021.
