The common compliments that men give women reveal that they are still unaware of modern beauty standards.
Talulah Rose shared her sarcasm about men calling her a “natural beauty”, garnering over 1.8 million likes on TikTok.
Talulah said she sometimes doesn't understand how men's brains work because they are floored by the fact that they have had cosmetic surgery.
“I was minding my own business today, and this guy came up to me and said, 'You're so elegant, so naturally beautiful,'” she said.
She explained that she thought the compliment was funny because she thought any woman could tell that she was unnatural.
“A woman might take one look at me and think, 'This is fake,'” she said.
Talula said her jawline cost $6,662, her lips “looked great,” her hair cost about $1,324, and eyelashes averaged $132.
She even pointed out that the lack of wrinkles on her forehead clearly shows she has had Botox.
She added that when she wears makeup, she often receives compliments from men for her natural look even though she is clearly not wearing makeup.
“Men think, 'I haven't been able to like you lately.' Yes, I'll do it with a needle and a nasty scalpel,” she said.
Talulah told news.com.au that the reason she receives so many compliments about her natural beauty is because men don't understand it.
“Men can't really tell the difference between a natural woman and a woman who has had cosmetic surgery,” she says.
Talulah said she thinks men just see “pretty” and that it's natural when they think a woman is nice.
“Most celebrities have jobs or women appear in porn, but most men assume that's what women look like these days,” she pointed out.
According to Talulah, when a man keeps insisting that he likes natural women, he asks her who his favorite celebrity is to prove his point.
“They'll obviously name people who have done the work, but they're also completely ignorant,” she says.
The author's comments about natural beauty resonated with the Internet, and women were quick to agree.
“My husband said, 'You should never get Botox.' If I could get him to frown, I would,” one person joked.
“It just means not wearing brightly colored eyeshadow. I've learned that's the only thing they can clock,” said another.
Comments continued to come in.
“Men don't like natural beauty; they like beauty that looks natural.”
“My husband doesn't know I've had Botox. He doesn't seem to like the way it looks, but he always tells me how beautiful my wrinkle-free face is.”
“A male friend once pointed out that I don't wear as much makeup as other girls. I spend at least 30 minutes every day doing my face.”
