Dr. Hong Yuan has been appointed as Director of Marketing Department.Dr. Anita Pennasur, Interim Chair of the Treasury Department
; Dr. Eslyn Williams is the Dean of the Management Program.
“We are pleased to select Dr. Yuan, Dr. Pennasar, and Dr. Williams to lead their respective departments,” said Dr. Daniel Gropper, dean of the FAU College of Business. “With their bold ideas and leadership, I look forward to seeing how they will advance and grow the vision of not only the department, but the College of Business and the university.”
Yuan comes to the College of Business from the University of Oregon, where he was a professor of marketing in the Lundquist College of Business. Since her arrival at FAU, she has focused on establishing a “Business Insights Lab” to further improve her undergraduate research as well as fine-tune her undergraduate major. She also plans to earn a master's degree in marketing and reestablish her Ph.D. marketing program.
“I am very fortunate and honored to lead this wonderful group of scholars and teachers and to further our work in both marketing and hospitality,” Yuan said. “We are excited about what we will accomplish as a university and department in the coming years.”
Ewan received his Ph.D. He holds a master's degree in marketing and a master's degree in applied economics from the University of Michigan. Her research interests include corporate pricing and promotional strategies, consumer information retrieval, experimental economics, and behavioral economics.
Pennasar, professor of finance in the School of Business, created more internship opportunities for students, earned graduate and undergraduate CFA accreditation for the program, and invited prominent industry experts to share their expertise with students. I'm planning to. Her research interests include corporate governance, firm performance, and institutional and market regulation.
“I am so happy to be able to use my voice to help our faculty shine even more. We have a very well-known research faculty and a growing financial community in Boca Raton and Miami,” she said. Williams, a professor of business administration, has already implemented a number of initiatives to move the department forward. She has led the revamp and rebranding of programs and courses, updated the International Business degree, and facilitated networking opportunities for students.
“I've been in academia for 25 years, most of that time at Florida Atlantic University,” Williams said. “On behalf of the faculty I have known for many years, I am pleased to work with them to expand our vision for the management program.”
