COLBERT, Okla. (KXII) – Two men have been arrested after breaking into Weldco Manufacturing, a metal processing company in Colbert, between midnight and 4 a.m. Monday.
They spray-painted 12 surveillance cameras with red paint, but missed some.
“We have a lot of video of them just moving sporadically from place to place,” Weldco general manager Waylon McKinney said.
McKinney said the suspects broke the lock on the entrance gate, then punched a hole in the wall and entered the office through an outdoor storefront, where they “stole a large amount of software, programs, computers, servers, etc.” “
The suspects believe they stole $150,000 worth of equipment, but McKinney left behind a pair of pliers that were believed to have helped in the break-in.
“They both appear to be white males, one appears to have a beard and mustache, the other is clean-shaven, one appears to be in his mid-to-late 20s, and the other is probably in his 40s. McKinney added.
The Bryan County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, while the Colbert Police Department will conduct the investigation, McKinney told News 12. “We received significant cooperation from local law enforcement.”
Now they are repairing the damage and getting back to work, but “we will lose production, not only with the loss of equipment, but also with the deadlines we have to meet with customers.'' ” added McKinney. “It's going to cause problems for us, but we'll get through it and get through it.”
