EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The City of El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH) announced in a news release that it will celebrate National Public Health Week by hosting a variety of events to educate the community during the first week of April. .
The city says the event will recognize the contribution of public health and highlight important issues to improve the country's public health.
“This year's theme, 'Protecting, Connecting, and Prospering: We Are All Public Health,' recognizes that our health and the health of the planet are critical to our success in building the healthiest nation of the future, and that everyone This is a reminder to the community that everyone can do their part. “Help!'' reads a news release.
In addition, the city is encouraging local residents to become public health experts through a health stance.
“The city’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter) Please post a text message or video with the hashtag #ThankYouPublicHealth #NPHW #IAmElPaso #DPH2024,” the city said.

Tuesday, April 2nd — Healthy Neighborhoods

Wednesday, April 3 — Climate Change
Franklin Mountains Trail cleanup
10am-12pm | Franklin Mountain State Park, 1331 McKelligan Canyon Rd.
- Trail cleaning to promote biodiversity, ecosystem balance, and resilience to the impacts of climate change.
- The beginner hike is 1.9 miles round trip. Before the cleanup begins, park staff will provide volunteers with pre-hike safety briefings.
- A lottery will be held.
Thursday, April 4th — New tools and innovations/The future of public health
- DPH staff will provide educational topics for seniors at the Fabens Senior Center.
- Topics such as how to log medications using your phone, how to add emergency contacts, and operational settings.
Friday, April 5th — Reproductive and Sexual Health
- DPH staff will give presentations on sexual and reproductive health to youth program participants at the Pride Center.
Saturday, April 6th — Emergency Preparedness
