Building on 55 years of experience in volumetric concrete solutions, Cemen Tech has developed the next generation of computerized models, CD2.
The new dual-bin positive displacement concrete mixer was introduced at the Wold of Concrete in Las Vegas in late January.
The fully automated addition to the C-Series lineup features a unique dividing bin with separate compartments for transporting and mixing various auxiliary cementing materials (SCMs).
In particular, this mixer is equipped to handle fly ash, a critical component mandated by various levels of government.
Connor Deering, CEO and President of Cemen Tech, said: “Experience is our foundation and fuels our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with volumetric concrete solutions.”
“The Cemen Tech CD2 builds on this tradition, providing contractors with a tool that not only meets but exceeds expectations in terms of accuracy, durability and efficiency.”
CD2 combines Cemen Tech's volumetric mixing technology with a new SCM dual bin, which allows for real-time mixing of individual ingredients in the required proportions without additional equipment or expense. The dual-bin design also doubles the amount of mix this unit can produce, further increasing efficiency.
According to Cemen Tech, CD2 allows operators to produce more durable and sustainable concrete. The special split bin can accommodate over 3,250 liters of cement and over 2,265 liters of fly ash, meeting the demands of various projects.
Like other Cemen Tech volumetric mixers, the CD2 ensures precision in measuring, mixing and dispensing concrete in a single unit. Each component, such as sand, stone, cement powder, fly ash, water, and additives, is stored in separate compartments and mixed precisely on site. This approach allows for rapid quality control testing and reduces downtime and material waste.
Mark Rinehart, Cemen Tech's vice president of sales and marketing, notes the growing trend of using fly ash to replace cement to improve concrete performance.
“CD2 is a valuable tool for contractors, delivering high-quality concrete with less waste, meeting customer specifications and meeting local, state and federal project requirements,” said Reinhart. .
In addition to its mixing capabilities, the CD2 replaces traditional bag filters with cartridge filters, eliminating the need to add or remove bags from the filter system. This innovation simplifies maintenance and improves filtration, while increasing operator convenience when pneumatically filling cement bins.
