The weather can vary wildly this time of year, but we're tracking for a good start to the season in St. Louis.
Missouri, USA —
At this time of year, anything can happen with St. Louis weather. We've seen it in the weather history of St. Louis' opening day. This year's season looks like it's off to a very good start.
March 28th – Opening day
Of course, the Cards' first game of the year won't be at home. We're starting this year in LA, and you'd expect the weather to be incredible every day. The first game looks good, but we'll be looking to avoid rain and cooler temperatures over the next few days into the weekend.
Home Opener – April 4th in St. Louis
By next week, significant low pressure will move into the Great Lakes region along with cooler air. The core of the cold air will affect the Northeast the most, but by Thursday morning we will be at the tail end of its exit. Right now, it looks like we'll finish quickly enough to warm up quite easily, but with a little delay we could only see temperatures in the mid 60s.
In any case, the weather will remain dry and sunny during this period. Temperatures will likely rise into the low 70s thanks to a pleasant southerly wind of about 16 mph throughout the afternoon. This will help get the ball into the left field seats and will also warm up the mood for all of us going out on this local holiday. Temperatures could change a few degrees over the next week, but it's still going to be pretty nice weather for the home opener.
