BOULDER — A website promoting the coworking industry has ranked Boulder the best small metropolitan area for women working in technology jobs.

Coworking Cafe ranked Boulder ninth among small metropolitan areas for the percentage of female workers with health insurance, at 63.4%.
The editors analyzed 208 metropolitan areas across a variety of relevant metrics, including the share of female technical workers among total technical professionals, female technical income, and unemployment rates. To reflect a fair comparison, they categorized large cities into her three population categories: small, medium, and large. San Jose, Calif., ranked first among metropolitan areas, while North Carolina's “Research Triangle” cities of Durham and Chapel Hill ranked top among medium-sized metropolitan areas for women in high tech.
San Jose, Boulder, and Seattle had the highest percentages of technology-related jobs among metropolitan areas of all sizes analyzed.
