Black Tech Tuesdays, a new monthly event series dedicated to promoting diversity and innovation in the local tech industry, kicks off on March 19 with the Black Women in Diversifying Technology panel.
Black Tech Tuesdays is a signature initiative of the Blacks In Tech Chattanooga Chapter, designed to provide a platform for networking, learning, and collaboration within the local tech community. Each month, Black Tech Tuesdays offers a dynamic lineup of programs featuring industry experts, thought leaders, and innovators.
This month's event launch spotlights the achievements of Black women in technology. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of Black women leaders who will share their insights, experiences, and strategies for succeeding in the technology industry.
The panelists are:
- Stacey Bradley, City of Red Bank Information Technology Manager
- Courtney Bramlet, Head of Enterprise Business Systems, BlueCross BlueShield, Tennessee
- Rosalinda Powell, Boeing Software Developer
“I just celebrated my first anniversary with the City of Red Bank,” Bradley said. Google IT certification program called EMPACT, Said. “Two years ago I said to myself that I wanted to jump into the world of technology and IT. I got a qualification and quit my job believing it could be transformative, but That's what happened. …You can change your career and do a 180 degree turn, and I especially want people to know that African-American women like us exist in this industry. In addition to panel discussions, attendees will enjoy networking opportunities, live DJ entertainment, and complimentary refreshments.
The event is hosted by the Society of Work's Enterprise Center and sponsored by EPB and Launch TN's Community Partner Program. Black Tech Tuesday is for all individuals who are passionate about promoting diversity and innovation in the technology industry.
