The Diamond in the Rough Black Women's Health and Wellness event will be held on Thursday, February 8th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Henbury Room 203 in Willard J. Walker Hall. Masu. This important session will focus on the broader health and wellness of Black women. This event is sponsored by the Black Graduate Student Association in collaboration with the Dr. Barbara A. Lofton Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Graduate Professional Student Council.
Panelists include chiropractor Dr. Bri Beal Jackson; Stacey C. Lambie, RN; and Warrenesha Arnold, a college graduate student working on Nyarai Skincare and Nyarai Nutrition. The panel discussion will explore both historical and contemporary aspects to discuss the journey and advancements in health care specific to Black women. Key topics include overall physical health, well-being, and the importance of holistic health in the Black community. This session is designed to provide valuable insight and foster a deeper understanding of the unique health challenges and successes that Black women experience.
This event is supported by the Student Activity Fee as a Graduate Professional Student Congress-funded event and is free to attend to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville students who pay the Student Activity Fee.
